Allegiant Air known for flying into secondary markets has made a surprised announcement this morning. Beginning October 30, 2013 they will offer a twice weekly flight between Honolulu and Los Angeles with fares starting at $95.99 each way. Honolulu to Los Angeles is the most popular domestic route (in terms of passengers carried) that is currently served by airlines. Allegiant has been known for there on-time performance issues however if you have flexible travel plans this is a great deal. We will see if this will cause other carriers to offer lower fares to LAX. Availability of this fare is excellent however tickets must be purchased prior to July 17, 2013 for travel to be completed by February 13, 2014.
Note: In order to get the $95.99 tickets must be purchased using a debit card. If a credit card is used the ticket price is $99.99 which is still a great deal.
