Virgin America Announces Non-Stop Service Between San Francisco and Kona

Virgin America has been operating between SFO and both Honolulu and Maui successfully for the last year. Today they announced new non-stop services between SFO and Kona, Hawaii beginning on December 14, 2017. This new service will also allow one-stop connections to Kona from Austin, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, Seattle, New York and Fort Lauderdale.

Virgin has recently been acquired by Alaska Airline and this route expansion is the largest in Alaska Air history. We predict that between Alaska Air and Virgin we will continue to see more route expansion to Hawaii in the near future.

A couple of weeks ago Mokulele Airlines announce new service between Lana'i City, Lana'i and Kahului, Maui. Today they yet again lowered the fares and is offering flights between the two cities for only $42.49 each way! Competitor Island Air's lowest fare between the same two cities is $142! Booking Mokulele would save you over $100 plus time since it is a non-stop flight and Island Air only offers this flight with a stop in Honolulu.

They are also the only carrier to offer non-stop service between Lana'i and Moloka'i as well as one stop service between Lana'i and Kona.
